So here is the awaited post. Jeff needed a little break between his winter and spring semester and I needed a break from work, so we decided to go to California! It was Emma first trip on an airplane and I have to say she did quite well. Even better than the older lady that was next to Jeff. The day that we flew in was the day a man was killed by a shark, which by the way happened at the beach near our hotel. Crazy! So we weren't able to actually swim, which was okay with me since the water was pretty cold. We did however enjoy walking and chilling by the beach and watching the sunset. It was so pretty to see it set over the ocean! It was Jeff's first chance to see Southern California! So it was pretty neat.

Emma was totally lovin playing in the sand. She loved to watch it run through her fingers.

She was doing okay until I look down and realize that it was all in her mouth! I wish I would have taken a picture with it all over her face and in her mouth. It was so funny. She is also doing a great job of sitting up! I really thought she might have done a face dive while sitting in the sand though.
Jeff and I were able to go to the temple to do sealings which was an awesome experience. Our sealer ended up being related to Jeff somehow so he took us on a little private tour and told us some cool interesting facts about it. We haven't been able to go since I had Emma so I was sooo excited to be able to go again. Plus it was my favorite temple! It really reminds me of a princess castle.

The next part of our trip we were with our neighbors part of the time. Together we went to Tijuana, which I am not quite sure why I am actually telling people. The morning we went there was a shooting on the border and 13 people died! Something like 15,000 rounds of ammunition was used. We totally had no clue! I bet people were wondering why the heck we were there! I was wondering why there weren't any tourists. Plus we had to wait in line to get back to the US of A for like almost 2 hours in the hot sun with a hungry baby. But we did get a few awesome pictures. We found a shop that was named Emma's Curios gift shop! So I had to take a picture of her by it.

Family Picture!

Yes that is a picture of Joseph Smith in between two pictures of devils. Weird!
We also got to go to SEA WORLD! Even though it was like 92 degrees and I got majorly sunburned (my sunburn peeled twice!) it ended up being really fun. I have no clue how they teach those animals to do that. It's crazy. We were able to touch a dolphin and some sting rays. The sting rays were really slimy and squishy. Kind of gross. Here is a picture of Jeff and Em's in front of the String Ray pond. I would recommend taking your children to Sea World when they are a little older, babies can be a little grumpy sitting in the sun for awhile, which in turn does not make for a happy mom or dad. But after they are fed and take a nap they are much happier, despite what some rude girls in front of us in the Sesame Street movie thought.
But our vacation overall was amazing. We had some great food saw some awesome sites. We will definitely be going to San Diego again. Everything was so pretty and green there. I would for sure recommend anyone to go there and if you do, make sure you go to Ruby's Diner! They have the BEST milkshakes!
