Travels!

So I know that it has been a long time since I have posted, but I have a really good reason. Jeff, Emma and I have been traveling non-stop since a couple weeks ago and we are currently in St. George right now. Last week we traveled to the Nations capital for Jeff's job. My sister Wendy had just moved out there and we were only like ten minutes away from her house. So it was a lot of fun to be able to see her and have her show us around. It started out a little rough because we found out that Em's had an ear infection the day before we left and we were worried how her ears would feel on the 5 hour plane ride! Thankfully she did awesome and she is feeling tons better. We were able to see

a Nationals game,

see all of the amazing monuments, go to the National Zoo (it's even better when you have kids)

072

see a bunch of museums all of them free even the zoo!

The zoo was especially cool because the fences are super low, a little higher than my waist. The reason they can be low is because there is a trench of water and an electric fence between you and the animals. This way you can be close and take pictures without having bars or fences in the way. It was way cool.

For those of you who don't know Jeff he loves all sports so when we go to a town with an ESPN Zone of course we have to go. Their cheese fries might actually be the best we've had, the only thing that could make them better is if we had a little dipping sauce so divine that the name speaks for itself, CREAMY AMAZING and believe me if you haven't been to Wingers and tried it you need to. Overall our trip was a lot of fun. The Metro is seriously the best invention. It takes you everywhere you want to go and you don't have to worry about parking. The only downside is Emma loved being able to see everything that was going on and now she won't let us put her in her carseat. I guess looking at the back seat of the car isn't as great as waving at all the people on the train. Which is her favorite past time. She will wave at people until they wave back then she will get shy and turn away. It always makes people smile. Sorry for all of the randomness, I had to fit a bunch of stuff all in one post. Hopefully I will try to post more so its not so random. But just one more thought to add to the randomness, being back there and seeing all that we did especially the cemetery really made us contemplate life and how grateful we are to be able to live in such a Country. It also made us so grateful for all of the men and women who defend that freedom for us every day. It also made us scared to know that everything that our forefathers believed in and the spirit that they carried with them throughout their lives is slowly fading away because a handful of people think it should change. I'ts a scary thought to realize that it only takes a few people to make a rise to make a change for everyone else. Okay sorry I went on but it made me a little sad, but all in all it was a lot of fun and Emma already misses Aunt Wendy, or at least her phone. ;-)

I love the one of you and Ems. And it's looking like the phone may be hers sooner than I thought. For some reason, the battery doesn't last longer than 10 hrs. now!
